Up to now we have just been adding an entry to Arduino's boards.txt file but with recent versions of the IDE this is no longer the way to go.įinally we have found issues when compiling with avr-gcc 4.9.2 and so would like to keep avr-gcc 4.8.1. The firmware can be compiled just fine using the Arduino Mega board in the IDE but we actually use a custom bootloader that takes up less space than the stock bootloader, so computed memory statistics are a bit off with this method (although it doesn't affect operation). Our project uses a custom board based on the ATmega 2560 processor.
